
Beginning in the mid-1990s the actor enjoyed a successful run as a recurring guest on the sitcom Friends, playing the love lover of Monica Geller and receiving an Emmy nomination for the character. In the year 2000, Selleck starred in a series of TV movies that included the Jesse Stone series, in which the actor played the role of a New England police chief. The role earned Selleck an Emmy nomination and he was the director of the film. Selleck plays a police commissioner who is part of a family of officers with multiple generations in the Blue Bloods. The series premiered on CBS in 2010 , and was later revived. Alongside Ted Danson and Steve Guttenberg the actor was featured in Three Men and a Baby that was a massively successful comedy. It was the top-grossing film of all time.
