Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the United States and is a Greek-American writer, syndicated journalist and a businesswoman. She co-founded The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a writer, philanthropist, television personality and the owner of the independent liberal online news magazine The Huffington Post. Born in Greece Arianna Huffington immigrated to England together with her family around age 16. In Cambridge University she earned a MA Degree in Economics. When she was 21, she became the head of the famous debate club The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign student in the history of Cambridge University to be elected. Being a conservative syndicated blog, after graduating she went on to become a voice of the Huffington Post. In part, her fame helped in attracting several famous contributors. Arianna became famous when she made the decision to run as an independent candidate for the California recall vote to succeed the Governor Davis. Alongside this, she was the leader of a Detroit project that promoted fuel efficient cars. Forbes identified her the most powerful woman in media in 2009. The newspaper was ranked as in the 12th spot on Forbes' listing. The Guardian added her to the top 100 list of media for 2009. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post in 2011 and appointed her president of the media group that also includes the other AOL brands like Engadget AOL Music Style list and Patch Media.
