Lee Roy Selmon's lifestyle is a combination of football scholarship, family work and community involvement. First family he is the youngest of the nine children born to Lucious Selmon and Jessie raised on a farm in Eufala, Oklahoma. He was also one of three siblings that represented Oklahoma on the field of football. All three made All-America. One year 1973 Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy received the Outland and Lombardi Awards for being the best lineman of the USA. During his three years as Oklahoma's starting quarterback and Sooners' starting quarterback, they went 32-1-1 and won two national championships. He was awarded a third scholarship in 1975. He was also named as a National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon holds a bachelor's degree in education. Lee Roy spent ten hours per week volunteering during his college years. He settled down in Tampa after graduation, and was a member of the Buccaneers for a period of nine years, and was three-times all-pro. The business venture he started began. In 1988, he was an Account Relations Officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank and worked in these organizations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute on Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It was not a surprise when In 1982, The Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy among the top 10 young stars across the country. Lee Roy stood 6-2 in the height department and weighed 256 lbs in his college days. He was captain of the team in 1975. In 1993, he was named associate director of the University of South Florida. The College Football Hall of Fame named his in the year 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame, in 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. The Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 awarded their Distinguished American Award to his parents Mr. and Mrs.. Lucious Selmon Sr. Henry Bellmon was the Oklahoma Governor, who awarded this award.
